CHALLENGE TO IMPERIAL HEGEMONY-The life story of a Great Indian Patriot Udham Singh, by Dr. Navtej Singh, is based on the original documents, retrieved from the archives of England through the sustained efforts of the Shaheed Udham Singh Welfare Trust and the Indian Workers' Association, Great Britain. In addition to the material received from U.K., the author has also made use of the material, personally gleaned by him from Calcutta, New Delhi, Amritsar and Sunam. Thus the present book demonstrates an authentic account of the life story, heroic struggle and the supreme sacrifice of Udham Singh whose legacy has come down to us as a facet of the Indian Freedom Struggle.

It is gratifying that I have played some role in facilitating the process of the writing of this book.
